Ali & Ilgar
Today I visited 2 Azeri Engineers who are currently based in Batam, they are helping me out for my Thesis on an Oil Rig in Azerbaijan. Meet Ali and Ilgar. After an insightful conversation in Ilgar's living room, we had lunch which Ilgar prepared for us. Pink Pickled Cabbage. Cabbage, carrots, beetroots and small green chillis pickled in salt. A traditional Azerbaijan side made by Ilgar's wife. Lamb Stew. Prepared by Ilgar and made with fresh lamb chops, potatos, aubergine, chilli peppers and caramelised onions, garnished with fresh coriander leaves.

Architours 12.10.2009
26 CABLE ROAD I P : L I A R C H I T E C T S The tour showcased 4 residential projects (one of which is featured above) and concluded with a visit to the office of f o r m w e r k z. I was slightly disappointed by a couple of projects but to each his own right? The Home is such a personal space. I really wonder how people allow architects to formalise and materialise their "dream home" (if it should ever exist). I also think about how the owners allow strangers with probing gazes, into their homes, as if scrutinising the way they live, what they buy, their activities... although most owners were not home when we visited their homes, I could not help but let my mind wonder... Who are they? What do they do? What do they like? What are their habits? Brave. Respect.
