Dinner with Owen after work
I know everyone has been to
-Spruce-
and according to Dawn and Mae, I must try their mac & cheese
Food's not bad,
the place is simply comfortable
& absolutely not-pretentious.

Since they change their menus ever so often, I am not quite sure what we had exactly...
so I am just going to whack at the description from what I remember!

Fresh baby spinach leaves, dressed in a light vinaigrette dressing, mixed in with crispy bacon, toasted walnuts, thin cuts of red apples and garnished with generous shavings of parmesan.

Seared fresh Ahi tuna on top of steamed bak choy & fresh pureed carrot.

Warm classic lemon pound cake topped with vanilla bean ice cream.

I hate complicated deserts.
This was perfect.

This is How I Want to be Remembered

Just saw this on Jon's Facebook...

Mind you...
I think we were
S O B E R

Taken at a place at
Lang Kwai Fong
Hong Kong
December 2009

What everyone around us didn't notice was that we put those peanuts back in the pile...
So someone had unusually salted nuts.

Merci Beaucoup.

Too Much Shopping in London...

Yes I carried all of this back!
And no, they aren't all mine!
In fact,
I think only 3 items in those bags are mine!
I crushed everything
to fit into my 60-litre case
(which was already filled with things when I arrived).
I know...
I am awesome...

Carluccio's

I had lunch with Uncle David and Auntie Judy...
And they brought me to one of the best Italian place ever.
Casual, with sunlight streaming in from the large windows,
it felt more like a heart family Sunday brunch setting!

There are actually many Carluccio's around that serves up exceptional hearty Italian meals,
the most famous one being their restaurant at Covent Garden.

Antipasto Massimo!

Focaccia, Napoli and Milano salami, roast ham, stuffed chicken, fresh green bean salad with mint, caponata, oven-roasted tomatoes, peppers and olives.

The Daily Special - Seafood Risotto

Linguine Al Frutti Di Mare

Linguine pasta with squid rings, mussels, clams and prawns with garlic, herbs and chilli.

Penne Giardiniera

Pugliese penne with courgette, chilli, and deep fried spinach balls with parmesan and garlic.

The focaccia was the best I have ever tried.
The oven-roasted tomatoes were awesome too.
I had the Penne as my main and it was amazing!!!
The portions are huge and I could not even finish what was on my plate.

One of My Favouritest Places on Earth

Think of a cross between
Harrods & William Sonoma
Martha Stewart & The Queen
and you've got
181 Piccadilly, London
The most delightful place in the world...

Had ice cream and tea at
(click to see the pictures on their site)
at Fortnum & Masons

My favourite was the
Stem Ginger & Borage Honey Ice Cream!

It is such a dream to pick up a fresh ready-made picnic in a large wicker basket from Fortnum & Mason and enjoy it at Hyde Park on a sunny summer Sunday!
Maybe I am asking a little too much of London's weather!

After listening to this over and over again
from the iPod on the attic of BooksActually...

I can't get it out of my head...

Think this was originally by Belle & Sebastian.

A Day at the Museums with Westaby

British Museum

I was suppose to be getting a tour by Matt.
But we ended up as lethargic living exhibits slouching over the benches in the middle of the galleries.
The place was too massive and we were overly ambitious...

Victoria & Albert Museum

Rushed into the museum about an hour before closing time and we managed to catch 1:1
We wanted to see the Grace Kelly exhibition but tickets were all sold out!
I LOVED THE V&A MUSEUM SHOP!

Breakfast!

An English Breakfast
A Must Have
-Breakfast at the Hotel-

Well there was creamy Greek yogurt, dried figs, fresh fruit, danish pastries, light butter croissants, baked beans on toast, salads, cereal and a selection of freshly made juices...
but why would I want to show you a picture of that
when I can show you this -

Scrambled eggs, breakfast sausages, bacon, sauteed mushrooms and black pudding!

Strangely, Bayswater is known for their awesome roast duck that even Singaporeans go there to get their fill. Located away from Chinatown near Leicester Square in London, it is where Asians in London look for their food!

Roast duck from 2 different restaurants at Bayswater.
Both were equally awesome!

I Love Disney

Sitting around the dinner table at Jon's house,

Thomas made a little D I S C O V E R Y -

Remember The Little Mermaid?

Starring Ariel, the red-head bombshell underwater princess who wore nothing but 2 sides of a clam shell?

Thomas was singing one of the famous theme songs from the animated movie

when we found some uncanny lyrics to

Under The Sea.

Do we really understand what the tiny red jamaican crab-Sebastian was saying to Ariel?

(If you know what I mean)

Under The Sea

The Little Mermaid, Disney

The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else's lake
You dream about going up there
But that is a big mistake

Just look at the world around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such wonderful things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?

Under the sea, under the sea
Darlin' it's better down where it's wetter
Take it from me.
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devoting full time to floating
Under the sea

Down here all the fish is happy
As off through the waves they roll
The fish on the land ain't happy
They sad 'cause they in the bowl

But fish in the bowl is lucky
They in for a worser fate
One day when the boss get hungry
Guess who's gon'be on the plate

Under the sea, under the sea
Nobody beat us, fry us
And eat us in fricassee
We what the land folks loves to cook
Under the sea we off the hook
We got no troubles, like is the bubbles

Under the sea, under the sea
Under the sea, under the sea
Since life is sweet here
We got the beat here naturally
Even the sturgeon and the ray
They get the urge 'n' start to play
We got the spirit, you got to hear it
Under the sea

The newt play the flute
The carp play the harp
The plaice play the bass
And they soundin' sharp
The bass play the brass
The chub play the tub
The fluke is the duke of soul
The ray he can play
The lings on the strings
The trout rockin' out
The blackfish, she sings
The smelt and the sprat
They know where it's at
And oh, that blowfish blow

Under the sea, under the sea
Under the sea, under the sea
When the sardine begin the beguine
It's music to me
What do they got, a lot of sand
We got a hot crustaceuan band

Each little clam here
Know how to jam here
Under the sea
Each little slug here
Cutting a rug here
Under the sea

Each little snail here
Know how to wail here
That's why it's hotter
Under the water
Ya, we in luck here
Down in the muck here
Under the sea
