Goose Fair
The bag was 4 Pounds 50p! The basement of the shop on Mansfield was covered in clothes and books and bags. Steph and I need to go back and look through everything over. It is probably my favourite shop and also the one where I can actually afford to buy things! For 2 Pounds 50p! (Don't judge me because I like boybands.) Turns out, the Goose Fair has nothing to do with geese! It is just a really large Pasar Malam which opens in the day as well. There are loads of hurl-inducing rides and food like mushy peas and huge burgers. I had some chips with chicken tikka masala (which reminds me- Thomas, I'm craving some Dehli Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan!). I didn't take any pictures cos Andrea was so clever, she took mental pictures when she forgot to bring her camera! I will somehow upload them next time when I get a hold of some from my Steph and Russell. But the best find today was not at the Goose Fair... but along the way between the Market Square and the Fair grounds, we stumbled upon the coolest row of small and old shops and quaint cupcake cafes. The shops were seemingly plain and unattractive from the outside but the inside held treasures like LPs, "Vintage" (I am beginning to hate the over-used & exploited term) bags and clothes and trinkets. Dawn, eat your heart out. I can't wait for you to come. The prices are about a third of what you would probably find in Singapore and even Malaka. Vinyls from 1950s to 1970s go for anything between 20p to 3 quid. AWESOME! |
