BooksActually
Sorry I have not been blogging but for those who don't know yet, I have already started work at BooksActually is the little bookshop that Owen and I use to visit mainly because we simply loved the atmosphere of the place... (as you know Andrea is not exactly what you would consider a "book worm") The quaint nook, in the middle of the night hustle and bustle of busy corporate-serving watering holes and che-che restaurants, which is Club Street, is a gem that specialises in Literature and local writings, as well as handmade stationery & hard-to-find non-fiction. To be honest, I was quite surprised at how all this started... I just sent my resume (the one below), after BooksActually owners, Kenny & Karen sent out a Tweet for a new Bookshop Elf I went down to the shop for an interview (which included a literature quiz I was not remotely proud of) To my surprise (and everyone as well) I got the job! So now you can find me Mondays to Fridays at the shop Owen and I love to go to! I am now a Bookshop Elf in the attic floor of this little special shophouse filled with curios... (or what Karen calls "tchotchkes", a nonsensical word) A Secret Photo of the attic floor at BooksActually This is at the Lee Clan Association at Ann Siang where BooksActually held a book launch recently for Light on the Lotus Hill So far I am really enjoying the work (despite the exhausting hours) Hope I will continue loving...
